The Emily Center at Phoenix Children's Hospital offers Nuestro Camino™ and the ketogenic diet program to assist families of children initiating treatment with the ketogenic diet. This application serves as a valuable tool for ensuring safe home care for children, with components that may also be utilized in clinic consultations and emergency room settings.

In hospital or clinical environments, parents may often feel overwhelmed by complex medical terminology used by healthcare professionals. It is not uncommon for providers to assume clarity, neglecting to check if patients fully understand their instructions. Being able to articulate medical information in one's own words is a crucial indicator of comprehension.

The Nuestro Camino™ application and ketogenic diet program are designed to:

• Equip parents with essential knowledge for safe home care of their child.
• Provide a safe space for parents to acknowledge uncertainties and ask questions.

The Emily Center was founded in 1990 in memory of Emily Anderson, who bravely battled a rare form of leukemia for four years before her untimely passing just before her 17th birthday. In response to their frustrations with the lack of easily accessible information concerning Emily's illness, her parents established The Emily Center. This initiative aims to ensure that families dealing with pediatric illnesses have access to accurate, comprehensible, and free health information within Arizona.
